| MAX, Municipal Area Express, is a commuter bus service specifically designed to address the commuting needs of South Bay residents who work in the El Segundo employment center. MAX offers three routes through the South Bay, and operates during the morning and afternoon peak commuting hours.
MAX buses are equipped with air conditioning, airline style reclining seats, reading lights and overhead parcel racks.

Notice of Community Meeting and Public Hearing: MAX will hold a Community Meeting and Public Hearing to inform the public about a proposed fare increase, and to gather public comment. The proposal is to increase the fare for Routes 2 & 3 from $1.25 to $1.50 and the fare for Route 3x from $1.50 to $2.00, beginning July 1, 2008. Comments may be made in person at the Community Meeting, the Public Hearing, via telephone to the MAX hotline, postal mail or email. For more information, please click here!
