| MAX, Municipal Area Express, is a commuter bus service specifically designed to address the commuting needs of South Bay residents who work in the El Segundo employment center. MAX offers three routes through the South Bay, and operates during the morning and afternoon peak commuting hours.
MAX buses are equipped with air conditioning, airline style reclining seats, reading lights and overhead parcel racks.

Notice of Service Changes: MAX Policy Steering Committee has voted to truncate Line 2 service at Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Blvd. Two (2) morning and two (2) afternoon runs will also be eliminated. These changes are due to the withdrawal of Rancho Palos Verdes from participating in the MAX. For more detailed information, please click here!
